ThinkITPink is a company based in Cornwall delivering a wide range of courses to both teams and individuals, as well as business support and virtual secretarial services. The primary focus of ThinkITPink is to help build self-confidence and broaden individual skills and talents in a supportive environment. The company was set up by Gemma Prisk in 2011.

We also aim to assist businesses and individuals by providing a virtual office admin service saving you valuable time and allowing you to concentrate on the more important tasks.
After many years of experience working in an IT department within a busy office environment, I decided to use my knowledge and skills to start an IT training company to run alongside my day job. I had been contacted by a wide range of clients to deliver one to one bespoke training and ThinkITPink was created in 2011. The main focus was to deliver flexible and accommodating IT Training packages tailor-made to suit the clients’ needs. At the same time I was developing my skills and was lucky enough to gain qualifications and experience in various business skills courses, seminars and events. Using this experience, I decided to offer additional business skills courses, including presentation skills, public speaking, report writing and communication skills (amongst others). Since then I have developed a business support service in which I provide secretarial and admin support to individuals and businesses. I have been lucky enough to be able to train a wide range of inspiring teams and individuals both in business and office environments as well as one to one and small group training.
One of the things I enjoyed most about training was seeing my clients’ confidence grow. I worked hard to ensure my training was tailored to suit individual client requirements, and always took place within a supportive environment. I started to broaden my interest in empowering individuals and help them to realise their talents to reach their own personal goals. I decided to expand on my current knowledge and have since been working on gaining qualifications and experience in coaching and mentoring to help develop and improve communication and confidence in people. I am also currently working towards various additional qualifications, to assist me in my work to develop teams and individuals in realising their individual potential and recognising self worth.

Other relevant experience:
I was lucky enough to further extend my knowledge in 2011 within the IT and training industry after winning a research grant which enabled me to spend a week in Germany visiting various training institutions to learn best practices within the trade. Attending the trip with 8 other European professionals from various countries, It enabled me to gain a greater understanding of key themes within the training industry, share ideas and investigate motivational techniques and trends. I spent a considerable part of the week demonstrating the benefits of interactive learning and teaching using Smart board technology within schools and colleges as well as confidence building techniques for children of primary and secondary school age.
I was asked by the Service Desk Institute to be a speaker at one of their events held in London. The event focused on the ‘Customer Satisfaction Journey’. This experience enabled me to gain a network of contacts within various industries. After my presentation, I was asked to work with groups of attendees to discuss their experiences in IT and business and identify common themes relating to challenges raised.
I attended a comdey writing workshop with the amazing Funny Women team (www.funnywomen.com) with the aim of discovering how comedy can build confidence and help women to build their self esteem. The workshop was so good I am going back to learn more on the ‘Stand up to stand out – Helping women to find their voice’ workshop. These sessions really do help women to embrace their funny side to improve confidence and communication. I already have lots of ideas which I can incorporate into my workshops.
